Review/plot:
Here's Tony Stark at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

He talks about how he recently accidentally released Zzzax while working with a device that absorbs static electricity.

He tried to beat him by absorbing him into his armor...

...but found that he was too much to contain, and was trying to take control.

So instead he sprayed some cables with liquid nitrogen and used them to short-circuit Zzzax. And the message is that we all make mistakes but we shouldn't let that stop us, and we just have to take things one day at a time.

Hey, it's a complete story with a fight sequence and some nice art (i really like that grinning Zzzax inside Iron Man's armor) and a creative team i haven't heard of, and a kind of message at the end (granted a sappy one). I guess that's about all we can ask for from these single issue MCP stories.

Sholly Fisch is writing for DC right now - he mostly writes the all-ages licensed books like Scooby Doo, but he also wrote some backups in Grant Morrison's Action Comics

I liked when writers show Stark going to AA. "Demon in a Bottle" by Michelinie & Layton is justifyably regarded as a classic story. Of course, as real-life recovering alcoholics can tell you, it's not just a matter of putting down the booze, but also attending meetings and working a program of recovery so that you can continue to stay sober. O'Neil was in recovery in real life, which is what led him to subsequently do the long storyline where Stark was shown to be white-knuckling it, fell off the wagon hard, and had to make a long, difficult climb back to sobriety. So it's nice that afterwards writers such as Fisch would occasionally show Stark at AA working to maintain his sobriety.

Just heard the news that Sholly Fisch is writing a Mighty Mouse miniseries for Dynamite.
