Marvel Fanfare #41Issue(s): Marvel Fanfare #41 Review/plot: ![]() Dr. Strange follows the trail of a spiritual assassin back to a dimension where the abandoned buildings feel "like skin". He starts to think that he's been accepted for Godhood. ![]() But he shakes that off and is then confronted by illusions of Nightmare... ![]() ...and Eternity... ![]() ...before finding out that the actual threat is a giant dreaming dude. The buildings are indeed covered in his skin because they are part of his back. ![]() ![]() Dr. Strange casts a spell to make it think that it was still dreaming the whole time, and then he goes home and seals up that dimension nice and tight. Fun, wackadoodle story. Also in this issue are a bunch of pin-ups by Mike Machlan, normally an inker at Marvel. ![]() ![]() ![]() The issue also has a giant Al Milgrom where the lettercol would normally go, because no one is writing in. ![]() Which isn't a surprise. This Simonson/Gibbons issue is a rare occasion where a top creative team helps meet the promise of this series, and even their story, while cool, is entirely skippable. Quality Rating: B+ Chronological Placement Considerations: This has to take place before all hell breaks loose for Dr. Strange. The MCP has placed it between Doctor Strange #75-76 along with several other appearances outside his main book. References: N/A Crossover: N/A Continuity Insert? N My Reprint: N/A
