Review/plot:
Marvel Premiere was running Dr. Who reprints at this time, but there is a 5 page Werewolf By Night story in the back of this issue.

Jack Russell has characteristically given himself 10 whole minutes to get home before his monthly transformation into a werewolf. He thinks that is "plenty of time", apparently not taking LA traffic into account. And sure enough, there's an accident causing a major back-up on the way home.

The truck involved in the accident was shipping animals for medical experiments. And five wolves, infected with rabies, have escaped their cages. So Jack runs off to avoid transforming on the highway, and he gets into a fight with the wolves, saving some people more or less incidentally.

Eventually the police show up and catch the wolves.

Chronological Placement Considerations: Werewolf By Night wasn't appearing anywhere regularly at this time. But he did happen to appear around the same time as this issue in Ghost Rider #54-55 (where he was shown to be losing control of his wolf form). I'm placing this at publication date, after the Ghost Rider story.

Well, you gotta admit, if Jack was actually a responsible guy, most of the werewolf stories would never happen.

Sad to see that Jack had not learned to coordinate his driving time with his lycanthropy. I will say that a Winslow Mortimer angry,rabies-infested wolf mouth will trump a Sal Buscema garage door saliva mouth any time!
