Marvel Team-Up #104Issue(s): Marvel Team-Up #104 Review/plot: ![]() It's a pretty bad story, actually, but it's still MODOK trying to enslave dinosaurs so he can rule the world. ![]() Really, any story where the Hulk punches a T. Rex in the belly is worth its cover price. ![]() And it does have a nice Hulk/MODOK fight. ![]() ![]() ![]() At the end of the issue, Ka-Zar offers the Hulk sanctuary in the Savage Land but the Hulk declines it. ![]() Much later, towards the end of Peter David's run, the Hulk will attempt to take up residence there. It's interesting that both this issue and #105 feature the Hulk as the lead character instead of Spider-Man. Were they experimenting to see if the Hulk's increased popularity due to his TV show meant that he could potentially hold up this title as well as Spidey, or did they just have some inventory stories to get rid of? Quality Rating: C Chronological Placement Considerations: The Hulk starts this issue in San Francisco so it has to take place after he arrives in San Francisco at the end of his world tour in Hulk #262. As Banner, he gets a job on a freight ship that turns out to have MODOK as cargo. At the end of the issue he leaps away from the Savage Land. His next appearance is Dazzler #6-7, and then Marvel Team-Up #105 which has him back in the Southwest Desert, but after that he apparently decides to return to California for Hulk #263. As for Ka-zar, this should take place before the start of his new series. Finally, note that since Spider-Man does not appear in this issue and Marvel Team-Up #105, it's ok for these issues to appear out of numerical sequence, and indeed i have these issues placed after Marvel Team-Up #107. CommentsDoes anyone know who the girl was that the Hulk was "rescuing" when he was on the Golden Gate Bridge? Posted by: clyde | June 14, 2014 10:04 PM Comments are now closed. |
