Marvel Team-Up #149Issue(s): Marvel Team-Up #149 Review/plot: I didn't notice it when i read this issue as a kid, but the plot kind of reads like a pilot. Simonson introduces a new villain called the Incandescent Man... ...and he also introduces his twin sister, who reveals that her brother was turned into a monster by Project Pegasus, and also vows that she'll never rest until she catches up with her brother and then exacts vengeance on the facility. Neither character will ever appear again, however. There's also a somewhat more lighthearted theme regarding the fact that Joe Roberston doesn't want any more pictures of Spidey fighting muggers, but while Peter gets some great shots of Cannonball fighting the Incandescent Man, he doesn't want to expose Cannonball's secret ID. And there's also the very lighthearted scenes where Cannonball is hat-shopping for his mom... ...and everyone chips in to help preserve the hat, which is costing Sam all of his savings, during the fights. Peter would have liked to get the same hat for Aunt May, but since he can't sell the pictures of Cannonball, he doesn't have the cash. Cannonball is also sweating the fact that he's "failing" at Professor Xavier's school, as if Professor X would really expel Cannonball and send him back to the coal mines. Anyway, a fun story. Quality Rating: B Chronological Placement Considerations: There's really nothing here that forces a specific placement for either character. References:

Posted by: Mark Drummond | February 22, 2012 11:56 PM Seeing that Louise was capable of making good usage of the New Mutants, I just sort of wonder what happened. Considering when she wrote this, this was long before Birdbrain, Gosymer, Asgard and the Cable/Liefeld madness, it just sort of feels sad seeing how she just decayed from here with them.
