Marvel Team-Up #86Issue(s): Marvel Team-Up #86 Review/plot: Spider-Man teams up with the Guardians of the Galaxy... ...to fight everyone's favorite Hulk villains inspired by the movie The Defiant Ones: Hammer and Anvil. Hammer and Anvil were working for Moses Magnum's company Deterrence Research Corporation, who was trying to steal the Guardian's future tech. Fun stuff. And nice clean art by Bob McLeod. Quality Rating: B- Chronological Placement Considerations: The MCP places this between Amazing Spider-Man #186-187. See the note in Marvel Team-Up #82-85 that explains why this arc is placed out of sequence from that one. References:

Unfortunately, his work was eminently forgettable. Posted by: Mark Drummond | July 18, 2011 1:30 AM On 10/13/79 the New York Times ran a story on Marvel that was highly critical of Jim Shooter, calling him "power thirsty" and citing Rick Marschall's firing and Marv Wolfman's quitting as evidence. The article was syndicated across the country and rebutted in a letter by Roger Stern. Posted by: Mark Drummond | July 15, 2012 6:56 PM I don't see Charlie or Vance depicted, or even mentioned, anywhere in this issue; am I missing something? Posted by: Matthew Bradley | December 30, 2016 6:32 AM Yeah, they're not in this. I imagine Claremont probably imagined that Vance is off in Ms. Marvel #23 while this is happening. Posted by: AF | December 31, 2016 7:02 AM There might be a mention that Charlie and Vance are off doing something, so fnord has tagged them to accomodate what they're meant to be doing ("they're monitoring us from space", etc.) Posted by: AF | December 31, 2016 7:04 AM I've removed them. Thanks. Posted by: fnord12 | January 13, 2017 8:55 AM Comments are now closed. |
