Marvel Team-Up #97

Issue(s): Marvel Team-Up #97
Cover Date: Sep 80
Title: "Doctor of madness!"
Credits:
Steven Grant - Writer
Carmine Infantino - Penciler
Alan Gordon - Inker

Review/plot:
This is an unusual issue of Marvel Team-Up, with no Spider-Man. With Carmine Infantino drawing Spider-Woman, it seems to me that this is actually a fill-in issue of Spider-Woman that got used in Team-Up to meet a deadline or something. It reads like a typical issue of Spider-Woman that just happens to have the Hulk in it.

Scotty McDowell, the handicapped bounty hunter that Spider Woman's been working with in her book, sends Spider-Woman on a mission in the Southwest...

...where there's a guy creating monsters.

But he made his mistake when he captured the Hulk as well, because obviously the Hulk gets free and goes on a rampage.

Infantino draws a nice Spider-Woman, or at least i'm used to seeing Spider-Woman depicted in his style.

But his Hulk is just... off-model, i guess.

Quality Rating: C

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: The Hulk starts this issue in a southwestern town, and ends jumping off into the desert. The MCP has Spider-Woman here between Spider-Woman #30-31.
