Review/plot:
The silly Skrulls that loved Earth's 1930's era gangster films so much they turned their whole planet into one come back for vengeance. They've already dismantled Torgo, the robot champion from that story...

...and now they're going after the Thing.

Luckily Captain Marvel is around to help.

After the fight, Marv says he'll send Torgo's head back to planet Mekka to be repaired.

It's comical seeing Captain Marvel try to explain his cosmic awareness powers: "I have a certain... awareness of things that go on in the universe."

I thought this scene in the restaurant was cute.

Quality Rating: C

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: Captain Marvel's series was still running at this point, but it was currently engaged in the ISAAC storyline that lasted until after the Marvel Spotlight issues. I've placed this after that whole run (Captain Marvel #58-62 & Marvel Spotlight #1-3).

Comments

I'm guessing the "Mohammed Ali" line was a jab (haha) at Ali's tussle with a certain Mild-Mannered Reporter's alter-ego? DC can do their Ali crossover, but Ben's got a full dance card.
