Master of Kung Fu #119Issue(s): Master of Kung Fu #119 Review/plot: ![]() And let's give Gene Day a break and see what this Marc Silvestri guy can do. To please his (dead) boss, Brynocki decides to go after Leiko Wu, who he reasons was the cause of Mordillo's downfall. ![]() He's got some new robots, called Ultra Men, for the occasion. ![]() Brynocki is ridiculous (by design), but Silvestri somehow manages to mix him in with more the more menacing (and vaguely Death's Headish) Ultra Men and Mordillo's skeleton. ![]() His art is very clean and nice to look at. His action sequences are good too. But there is one "arrow of shame" layouting mishap. ![]() Storywise, Shang-Chi and Leiko Wu fight off the Ultra Men, with some help from Clive Reston and Dark Angel, and with Leiko pushing back against Shang-Chi being a bit macho with a "you run and i'll hold them off" type moment. ![]() The resurfacing of Brynocki doesn't mean it's a complete goofball issue, either. Character development continues from the previous storyline, with Shang-Chi now doubting the change in himself that he felt at the end of that arc. ![]() A fun change of pace.
