Review/plot:
I thought i would check in on the last issue of Moon Knight's short-lived second series to see how it ended (the fact that it was written by Jim Owsley helped sweeten the pot). But it turns out that this is really just a regular story, not a formal conclusion to the series.

Moon Knight is in Jamaica taking out some drug dealers...

...that turn out to actually be cannibals...

...which is why Khonshu thought it was worthy of his attention and led him there.

There's also a subplot about a former police officer who fell in with the cannibals due to a heroin habit.

Here's a shot of Moon Knight's new costume now that he's embraced his connection with Khonshu.

Well written. Nicely drawn. I don't have a lot to say about it.

In early 1984 it was announced that Matt Wagner would do a Moon Knight story for Marvel Fanfare. I don't think it happened and I'm not sure if Wagner ever did do anything for Marvel.

This cancellation of this book seemed odd at the time. I wasn't well connected at the time, not yet reading industry periodicals and getting behind-the-scenes scoop. It just...stopped. They had even promised in a letter column of one of the last issues (I think; I'm going on old memories here, as always) that Moon Knight would play a role in SECRET WARS II.

It wasn't a bad book, by any means. I guess the timing just wasn't right and the sales were pool.

Or "poor," even.

Correction: Story (Writing) by Jim Owsley (you have Priest listed).
Nevertheless, good story, good art. A bummer ending, for sure.
I recently bought it in an eBay haul, pretty much for the Bill Sienkiewicz, and not knowing it was the last issue in the series.
Glad I picked it up, though.

Fnord uses the Priest name for all work Owsley/Priest did so all of it can come up in a single search.
