Review/plot:
The credits say that the issue is "Based on a story by Graham Marks" but doesn't offer anyone else as a plotter or scripter.

Motormouth & Killpower try to teleport to a Faith No More concert but instead wind up on a barbarian world where they meet a Red Sonja (or "Sabra").

Red Sabra knows a "spell" that activates Motormouth's MOPED unit, causing her to be teleported away for a while.

She comes back a little later, and we're told we'll find out where she went in a future issue.

But the episode causes Sabra to realize that Motormouth and Killpower are the chosen ones of prophecy or whatever, so they get wrapped up in a little swords and sorcery adventure. After they help overthrow the evil wizard or whatever, Motormouth is tricked into picking up a gem that pricks her finger and causes her to fall asleep like Sleeping Beauty. It's a kiss from Killpower that wakes her up.

Then they head home.

It's a standard harmless little adventure story. The sort of thing that the series was basically designed for, although i don't think them being heroes of prophecy was necessary. And without Gary Frank level art, it's definitely nothing special, although i do continue to enjoy Killpower as the little kid in a big man's body.

Note that the Statement of Ownership numbers are identical to what was reported for Warheads #10. I suppose it's not impossible that retailers ordered these in some kind of recommended amounts or as part of a package deal or something. I mean, how would a retailer know how to order one series vs. another? But it seems more likely that there's a mistake or something more shady going on with the numbers. The numbers aren't very good, in any event.

Statement of Ownership Total Paid Circulation: Average of Past 12 months = 25,040. Single issue closest to filing date = 93,760.

Comments

I don't think we ever find out where Motormouth went.
