Review/plot:
Shooter on art again.

The Killer Shrike gets his armor possessed by the Will O' The Wisp...

...and he's forced to kidnap J. Jonah Jameson's scientist girlfriend Marla Madison...

...so she can help restore the Will O' The Wisp to a corporeal form.

He subsequently destroys the Brand Corporation facility that's been effectively holding him prisoner, and Spider-Man wonders about the Wisp's stability.

The cover promises a kind of light-hearted story featuring JJ going on the offensive to get his girlfriend back, but it really doesn't play out that way. Still a decent story, but it's clear this book isn't getting the right attention from an art point of view.

Comments

The Killer Shrike is quite the loser villain in this story, as Spider-Man basically kicks his ass in a few panels even when he gets restored to normal. It's not really a great story, but I always laugh a lot at the "hey!" "straw is cheaper--grass is free--buy a farm and you get all three--BURMA SHAVE" joke.
