Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #6

Issue(s): Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #6
Cover Date: May 77
Title: "The power to purge!"
Credits:

Frank Giacoia - Inker

Review/plot:
It's kind of gratuitous for me to include an entry for this issue, since it is just a reprint of Marvel Team-Up #3. But i own it, so i might as well include it. I bought this issue for the reprint, and then realized that it was missing a few pages of story and more importantly had the first few pages re-dialogued so that they take place at publication time before going into a flashback that covers MTU #3. So Spider-Man winds up experiencing the exact same action sequence twice.

The issue also ends with a new page featuring Morbius in space.

Note that the credits listed are for the reprint; i don't know who added the new dialogue or drew the last page.

Quality Rating: D

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: An actual story featuring Morbius begins next issue but it doesn't continue directly from this.

References:

  • Most of this issue is a reprint of Marvel Team-Up #3.
  • On the last page, Spider-Man notes that Morbius was defeated in Marvel Team-Up #4 and then disappeared after fighting the Thing in Marvel Two-In-One #15.

Crossover: N/A

Continuity Insert? N

Nowadays, a title like that would be about bulimia.
