Review/plot:
This arc starts with Power Man breaking up a break-in at a chemical factory. He's not on a case; he's doing it as part of his "civic duty". One of the criminals is someone he knows from the old days who wants to know why Luke is "Tommin' for the white fuzz". The question rankles Luke.

Luke decides to further investigate the robbery, but finds that none of his usual contacts in Times Square will talk to him.

The investigation leads Power Man & Iron Fist to a new Chemistro, the third to use the title and the brother of the original.

Danny handles the goons while Cage goes after Chemistro.

This new villain almost has a dual personality, switching between typical overconfident villain and becoming quickly terrified.

He manages to hold off Luke & Danny long enough to escape, and he then hunts down Coleen Wing and Bob Diamond, turning them both to glass.

With the help of the original Chemistro...

...the duo is able to stop Chemistro...

...and turn their friends back to normal, but Chemistro escapes.

An added layer is that D.W. is filming a documentary about the Heroes For Hire during issue #93.

Iron Fist says that he's going to hook up the original Chemistro with a job at Stark Industries.

Cowan's art in issue #93 isn't very good. Chan's art in #94 is a big improvement, but still not great. The writing and plotting, on the other hand, is good.

Comments

The title to #94 refers to the song by Blondie.

was cool to see the personality shifts in chemestro, made for an interesting villain. plus, having iron fist go coldly mad was a nice touch. overall, Busiek wrote these characters well.

Busiek stated in Comics Journal #216 that he had no problem with Cowan's art, but he described Ernie Chan as "...shall we say, uncommercial."

and apparently turning Bob Diamond into glass gave him an instant shave as well (but his goatee comes back after the process is reversed).
