Review/plot:
Jon Bogdanove is gone and this issue's next issue blurb promises "An incredibly new and intense direction!". In the meantime we have this Dwayne McDuffie story that is explicitly a Scooby Doo style story. Mysterio is trying to chase everyone out of the apartment building where the Powers live by making them think that the house is haunted.

At this point, sadly, i guess this type of scheme is about Mysterio's speed. It's worth noting that both this issue and last used classic Marvel villains, both in ways that didn't take them very seriously as characters.

Whatever the merits of the story (which i think are few), i can't get over the terrible art.

Of note is this "power trick". I guess Katie currently has the gravity power and Alex has the mass power (who can keep track?), and they want to investigate the fact that their mom saw a monster in the toilet. So Kate uses her power to make Alex heavy, causing his cloud form to turn into liquid, allowing him to get flushed down the toilet.

As i said, the story is overtly based on your standard Scooby Doo plot (you can also see Jack's line about the meddling kids above)...

...but it's also left open that there's possibly something of interest in the Power's building. Nothing will come of this since the series is cancelled after that new and intense direction.

Quality Rating: D

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: Placing this before FF #337 since Franklin's appearance beginning next issue take place after he's dropped off with the Powers during the FF's time travel story.

Why, the same thing he wanted with the Parker household, of course! ;P
