Punisher #42

Issue(s): Punisher #42
Cover Date: Nov 90
Title: "St. Paradine's"
Credits:
Mike Baron - Writer
Mark Texeira - Penciler
Mark Texeira - Inker
Kevin Kobasic - Assistant Editor
Don Daley - Editor

Review/plot:
An arms dealer gets some weapons from a military academy and also winds up with some child pornography filmed there.

The Punisher shows up and, well, kills the dealers.

But he finds the video tapes. So he goes to the academy, pretending to be a parent that wants to enroll his son. He doesn't actually find anything while on the official tour, but nonetheless decides that something is wrong and he comes back that night and busts up the filming of another video.

He then convinces the cadets at the academy to turn against the headmaster.

Nice to have some Mark Texeira art, and the story is your typical Punisher stuff. Literally nothing to do with the cover, though.

Man how was the Punisher ever such a big deal? I lived through the phenomenon and I still don't get it. The books seem like such a chore to get through. I don't know how you do it and stay sane. But then again I wondered the same thing about those '70s horror comics you covered in the back issue add that seemed to go on forever ;)
