Review/plot:
Another Strange Tales type of story where ROM encounters a human society (they actually call themselves "humans" but we'll write that off to ROM's translator giving us the closest approximation in our language) at war with its robots and computers.

As a cyborg, ROM is well suited to be an ambassador between the two factions, but his attempt to broker peace fails...

...and both sides manage to exterminate each other. which is a dark touch.

I like this era of ROM. Nothing epic or earth-shattering, just nice twisty sci fi stories.

Chronological Placement Considerations: N/A

References:

  • ROM is disappointed that his involvement in "martial missions" didn't end with the banishment of the Dire Wraiths from Earth in ROM #66.
  • We're reminded again that half of ROM's physical body was destroyed in ROM #26-27, so there's no hope of being restored to human form.
