Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos #11

Issue(s): Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos #11
Cover Date: Oct 64
Title: "The crackdown of Capt. Flint!"
Credits:
Stan Lee - Writer
Dick Ayers - Penciler
George Roussos - Inker

Review/plot:
In this issue, Happy Sam Sawyer is replaced by Captain Flint...

...who has a more hands-on and by-the-book approach to leading the Commandos. They even have to wear proper uniforms!

This of course causes a lot of tension with the group...

...but it ultimately ends with Flint seeing the wisdom of the Howler ways.

It's funny when Flint temporarily gets knocked out during their mission and the Howlers immediate revert to form.

We learn that Sawyer used to be more hands-on as well, before a sever injury forced him into a desk job.

Flint has one more appearance, in Sgt. Fury #61.

More non-lethal war combat:

STUMBLED ON YOUR SITE, while looking for Black Panthers for my 8 year old. I rarely go on comic websites, but yours is wonderful. Just the pics alone are a joy. Thanks. Rob
