Silver Surfer #89-92Issue(s): Silver Surfer #89, Silver Surfer #90, Silver Surfer #91, Silver Surfer #92 Review/plot: The Silver Surfer is on the same planet also looking for someone. We're meant to think he's also looking for Vranx, but he's not. He's looking for Genis-vell, aka Legacy. But that's Vranx getting tense until he hears that the Surfer's not looking for him. But Raze enters the bar as the Surfer is leaving (the Surfer got shoved by Raze as he entered, which doesn't quite explain his pose). The Surfer stops Raze from killing Vranx, and Vranx escapes. The Surfer then insists on helping Raze capture Vranx. But Raze manages to kill Vranx, who turns out to be a Skrull too. He's Raze's brother, in fact, but Vranx betrayed Raze in the past. Before the Surfer can do anything about Raze's actions, Legacy stumbles out of a nearby bar. The Surfer and Legacy get into a fight about Legacy's prodigal ways, though. Raze slips away, and that's the last we see of him. Raze was made into an action figure and used in the Silver Surfer cartoon despite only appearing in these two issues (really one and a tenth issues). I never picked up on his Man With No Name style theme from the toy, though. The Surfer kicks the crap out of Legacy, who agrees to change his ways. After they depart, we see that Avatar is stalking the Surfer. As part of Legacy's attempt to make amends, he's arranged for the Silver Surfer experience a virtual reality session... ...where he can relive a moment from Zenn-La's history when there was a civil war between Zenn-La's technological faction and a "warlord" who was resisting Zenn-La's turn towards rationality and pacifism. The warlord looks like one of Ganymede's people, but that may just be because Ron Lim is back on art. Avatar attacks while the Surfer is vulnerable in the VR machine. They fight for a bit, and then the Surfer shoves her into a VR chair, where she's enveloped by her fantasy, which turns out to be surfing with the alien. These stories feel boring and random but they're fine, i guess. Quality Rating: C- Chronological Placement Considerations: The MCP place the Silver Surfer's appearances in Hulk and in Silver Surfer annual #7 between this arc and the next one. References:

CommentsI first got the Raze figure years ago because he was a cool-looking named Skrull and I want to have more Skrulls (specially named ones). Then I checked his brief comic bio and downloaded the episode where he appeared.
