Review/plot:
The credits for script, plot, and pencils are my guess. DeFalco, Frenz, and Bagley are all lumped together as "plot, pencils, & script".

This is another anniversary issue with a hologram cover.

The main plot has a pair of brothers that have stolen forcefield technology from Madame Menace.

Spidey saves them from getting killed by Madame Menace's goons but also makes sure they go to jail.

There's also a subthread about a guy straight out of the 1960s who keeps talking about his criminal uncle.

He takes advantage of the disturbance caused by the brothers to do some purse snatching.

He later flags down Spider-Man and gives the purse back. It's left unresolved if this really is the nephew of the guy that killed Peter's uncle Ben.

Anniversary issues ought to be banned from existence.

Comments

I thought this was a nice one-and-done issue, with the exception of the hackneyed "Nephew of the Burglar" subplot. These "simple criminals in over their heads" plots are nice to have every once and a while, and I thought the forcefield machine lent itself well to that kind of story.

It would have actually been nice to have seen Sunset Bain in more Spider-Man stories, especially considering she's a Ditko & DeFalco creation, but I think she only has one more mostly-background appearance in this title before vanishing for several years.

Man outside of Larsen's arc this really was a dreadful series. Somehow this is one of the better issues.
