Review/plot:
The four Spider-Man books will soon enough go into a permanent crossover status, but Marvel begins dipping its toes in that idea in 1994 with three separate crossovers between all the Spidey books. It's quite a contrast from the aftermath of Kraven's Last Hunt, where reactions from fans caused Marvel to promise not to do crossovers between books anymore, but after Maximum Carnage that taboo had already been destroyed anyway.

Speaking of Kraven's Last Hunt, this story tries to borrow some of that story's weight. It follows directly on the revelation from Amazing Spider-Man #386-388, which revealed that the return of Peter Parker's parents was really a bizarre scheme by the Chameleon to get revenge for Kraven's death. Spider-Man is now in Pursuit of the Chameleon. He's using the "beat up random thugs" method of investigation.

He also tries to get help from Detective Connor Trevane. And when that doesn't work, he's luckily attacked by armored goons hired by the Chameleon.
