Issue(s): Sub-Mariner #20
Cover Date: Dec 69
Title: "In the darkness dwells... Doom!"
Credits:
Roy Thomas - Writer
John Buscema - Penciler
Johnny T. Craig - Inker

Review/plot:
John Buscema returns to the book for a single issue which features a battle between Namor and Dr. Doom.

Namor, whose gills have been sealed by aliens, is chased through New York City by the military, and he winds up taking refuge in the Latverian Embassy, where Doom attacks him in an effort to subdue him and make him agree to form an alliance.

Namor refuses and manages to fight his way out of the embassy. Doom has all the water in the building turned off and removed, but Namor is aided by some firefighters outside the embassy.

Meanwhile, Triton arrives in Atlantis and presents the Trident of Neptune to Lady Dorma.

I have no problem with Severin's art on this series, but this is John Buscema, and he captures the majesty of Doom perfectly.
