Review/plot: While the rest of the Avengers are off at a charity benefit show (they end up being late because the Wasp decided to change her makeup)...

...Iron Man responds to an alarm at Stark Industries. It's the Black Knight, who's broken out of jail with the help of his winged horse, and he's looking for the Avengers. IM is ready to go after him, but his chestplate stops working and his heart problems kick in. He boosts his armor's power with extra transistors and defeats the Knight.

Iron Man isn't bluffing, by the way. He will, eventually, let the Black Knight fall to his death.

The result of the fight is that Tony Stark now has to keep the armor on all the time in order to survive. He tells Happy and Pepper that Stark is out of town and Iron Man has been left in charge, something that neither believes.

At this point it really would have been nice for Tony to take off his helmet and show his most trusted employees the truth, but that's not the route we're going.

Chronological Placement Considerations: This issue takes place during Avengers #9; Happy and Pepper are suspicious of Iron Man during that issue.
