Review/plot: Thor returns to Earth, refusing to let Sif come with him for no good reason, and faces a robot of Kang's called the Growing Man.

It gets larger every time it is hit. Thor traps Kang and his robot in a Universal Infinity Vortex.

Pretty simple and straightforward stuff. Feels a bit weak after all the epic stories in Thor recently, but it's still a decent story with nice Kirby art.

Quality Rating: C-

Historical Significance Rating: 3 - first Growing Man

Chronological Placement Considerations: At the beginning of this issue, the Asgardians are still celebrating their defeat of the Troll army from the end of the previous issue. The end of this issue is the first break in Thor stories where Thor is back on Earth and can re-convene with the Avengers for Amazing Spider-Man annual #3.

My Reprint: Marvel Spectacular #11

I liked this one and I liked that Kang faced an individual member of the Avengers much like Dr. Light fought several individual members of the JLA over the years. The Growing Man was interesting too.
