Review/plot:
How i wound up with part 2 of a 3 parth Shatterstar origin story is beyond me. Even if i was filling out a 4 for a dollar deal in the bargain bins, the pickings had to be really slim for me to pick something with Mojo on the cover. And as far as "the origin of Shatterstar" goes, the idea that he's from Longshot's future and possibly Longshot and Dazzler's kid was more than enough for me. Right, Shatterstar? You're just a guy from the future, yes?

Dude, what are you talking about? Shut up, you're embarrassing me.

Still, when i picked this up to re-read for my project, i remembered that there was something going on in Peter David's X-Factor run circa 2013 regarding the origin that was a bit over my head, and i thought maybe this would fill in some of those details. Unfortunately, despite the promise on the cover, this issue does not, in fact, give us Shatterstar's origin.

What does happen is Cable and Shatterstar getting tortured in the Mojoverse, while X-Factor and Longshot go to Dr. Strange to try to get into the Mojoverse. There should be something fun about teaming-up Domino and Longshot, since their powers are both luck based, and the story makes a nod to that...

...but nothing is really done with it (luck isn't necessary to find Dr. Strange's house because Longshot already knows where it is since he's been there before).

Meanwhile, Risque (Risque!) is menaced by the Blob, Mimic, and someone else (this seems to be the first appearance of a minor character named Sledge).

(Mimic and the Blob say they took Risque from Xavier's before Mr. Sinister could get her in X-Force #58, which would be the issue directly before this story if i had the first part, so i'm not listing it as a Reference. It does indicate that some of these villains should be considered behind-the-scenes for that issue.)

I've been noting how Jeph Loeb has been doing a kind of clean-up of 90s X-Continuity, and it's been good! Probably this would have been good too if i read the whole thing. But this middle chapter is just a lot of running around in the Mojoverse, and that's definitely not my thing.
