X-Men #26Issue(s): X-Men #26 Review/plot: ![]() ![]() ![]() ...allowing a contingent including Captain America, Crystal, Scarlet Witch, Black Knight, Sersi, and War Machine to escape SHIELD's blockade and head to Genosha. ![]() They are confronted by Exodus. ![]() A contingent of X-Men go to Genosha as well. ![]() They encounter a group of Cortez' henchmen known as the Unforgiven. ![]() And Professor Xavier's diplomatic envoy is attacked in what turns out to be a distraction allowing Xavier and the Beast to hook up with a group of bipartisan (i.e. human and mutate) rebels led by a Renee Majcomb who are resisting the civil war. ![]() USAgent had been with Xavier's group, and he follows discretely. ![]() It is confirmed in this issue that Fabian Cortez has no idea that Magneto is comatose. ![]() ![]() As an aside: these are the panels where i've decided to give in and start loving Gambit. The key is accepting him as a ridiculous cartoon character who speaks in an unintelligible mish-mosh of gumbo, and waiting for him to inevitably make a CSI: Miami style card pun. Cortez is seemingly with the Unforgiven, and in that encounter Quicksilver lets slip that Magneto is a vegetable. It will turn out that this Cortez is really just another shapeshifter, but he's got a telepathic connection with the real Cortez so by the end of this issue Cortez is aware that his plan to lure out Magneto won't work. Last chapter set up the overall storyline. This issue sets up a bunch of fights (Andy Kubert's posed pin-ups don't really allow room for more). So far, nothing has actually happened. And we are 2/5ths done with the crossover. Quality Rating: C Chronological Placement Considerations: This is part two of Bloodlines. Part three is in Avengers West Coast #101. The creators of this event only bothered to give names to two members of the Unforgiven (Syth and Skelter), and it's not clear to me that those two appear beyond the issue where they are named (Avengers West Coast #101, and the MCP don't seem to think so). So i'm not listing them. References: N/A Crossover: Bloodties Continuity Insert? Posted by: Michael | March 6, 2017 8:21 PM Scarlet Witch makes a rare appearance in an X-title here. Posted by: Steven | March 7, 2017 12:51 AM This crossover wasn't the best but man Andy Kubert draws a great Cap. His art has vastly improved here since the Muir Island Saga. Posted by: Jeff | March 7, 2017 10:01 AM One of the better "Andy Kubert doesn't like feet" examples. Posted by: Generic Comment | March 7, 2017 2:10 PM Comments are now closed. |
