Are you ready, Wanyas?

The Dead Milkmen's Bucky Fellini came out in 1987. Talk Talk's* The The's Mind Bomb came out in 1989.

But the AMG Review for Bucky Fellini says:

Bucky Fellini begins with a parody of the bandmember introductions from Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz" and raises another fun and funny stink.

So there you go. They're both parodies, but neither of the other.

Still, "Are you ready, Jesus? Uh-uh. Buddha? Yeah...? Mohammed? Ok..." is pretty classic.

(In investigating Ballroom Blitz i found that i was familiar with it due to the fact that i had an album by the pretty awful hard rock band Krokus in which they covered the song.)

*I friggin' did it again!

Random Lyrics Thursday

Laura by Scissor Sisters

Laura, Can't you give me some time?
I got to give myself one more chance.
To be the man that I know I am.
To be the man that I know I am.
Won't you just tell Cincinnati,
I'm gonna need your love.
Don't you give me your love?
Don't you give me your...

Sh'mon
Sh'mon
Where is your love?
Don't you give me your love,
Don't you give me your love,
Sh'mon
Sh'mon
Where is your love?
Don't you give me your love?
Don't you give me your...

Freeda, Can't you spare me a dime?
I got to give myself one more chance.
To ring the band that I know I'm in.
To ring the band that I know I'm in.
Won't you just tell Baby Daddy,
I'm gonna need his love.
Why don't he give me his love?
Why don't he give me his...

Sh'mon
Sh'mon
Where is your love?
Don't you give me your love,
Don't you give me your love,
Sh'mon
Sh'mon
Where is your love?
Don't you give me your love.
Don't you give me your...

This'll be the last time,
I ever do your hair.
(Tired of this s**t, Swear I'm going quit, Can't seem to make enough dough,
But my cutting's on a roll,)
One face among the many,
I never thought you cared.
(Seen enough stuff, Thought I got rough, Now I know it aint so, I gotta live my own!)
